Veronica started her career with the City of Oxnard, at the Library Department, on March 29th, 2001. She now holds the position of Library Aide II. Veronica’s work quality is outstanding and exceeds the expectations of the position. She goes above and beyond her duties to make it easier for staff to perform their duties. She takes pride in the appearance of the library. She assumes the responsibility of organizing and straightening items in the Circulation Desk so that the Library appears always clean and Tidy. She always greets the library patrons with a smile and patience. Veronica is well respected and liked by all the members of her department as well as the Publics. The library gets a lot of Spanish-speaking patrons asking for information related to passports, and Veronica is always patient and extremely thorough when explaining the requirements or when she meets with them. Veronica is very considerate about others. During the course of her duties, she always puts the needs of other before hers. She always volunteers herself in taking extra shifts to help with the passport services. She finds a way to celebrate with her co-workers like collecting cans and bottles all year long, recycles them and uses the proceeds to pay for a holiday party for the Library’s Pages. Veronica received an employee of the quarter plaque, $250 cash award and is now eligible to receive $500 cash award if she is selected Employee of the Year.
