March 4, 2016 by Juan Cortes Date: 12/3/2015 Press Releases Contact: Public Works (805) 385-8280publicworks@oxnard.org CITY OF OXNARD SENDS OUT PROP 218 NOTICES TO UTILITY RATEPAYERS On Thursday, December 3, 2015, the City of Oxnard is mailing out notices of proposed utility rate increases to all Oxnard utility ratepayers and property owners. Ratepayers will have a period of 45 days to provide their feedback. The notice explains how the proposed rate increases were determined, why increases are needed, the consequences of not adopting the adjustments, and how to calculate your utility bill. The notice will include a mailable protest form; no action is required to support the utility rate adjustments. There will be a special City Council meeting on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Council Chambers at 305 West Third Street, Oxnard, California 93030, to discuss the Proposition 218 process and the proposed utility rate increases. There will be a public hearing at the end of the 45-day feedback period on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Council Chambers. The City encourages Oxnard residents, businesses and local stakeholders to participate in these opportunities to help shape the future of our community. In addition to the December 10, 2015 special City Council meeting and the January 19, 2016 Public Hearing, the City will host facility tours of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and at least one Community Forum.
