The Cultural and Community Services Department is pleased to announce the winners for our 1st Annual City of Oxnard Photography Contest! Each was selected by a panel of 5 judges: a Cultural Arts Commissioner, a Parks, Recreation & Community Services Commissioner, an Arts Administrator, and two local photographers. Additionally, a “Fan Favorite” was selected in each category. These images were the entries that received the most likes on our Facebook page.

“There are many bridges people burn down to never make a connection with again but, in this case there are bridges that are welcoming, warm and that are begging the passers- by to cross them with safety passage. This is what I thought when I captured this image on July 28, 2017, at Seabridge. The night was on its way to get darker and cooler but the warmth and light that the bridge emanated was enough to make me stand my ground and to make my imagination wonder what would the other side might look like when I finally cross the bridge.”
