Regional Stay-at-Home Order Goes Into Effect

The State of California issued a new Regional Stay-at-Home Order that is triggered when a region falls below 15% remaining ICU capacity. The County of Ventura is in the Southern California region, a region that includes the following counties: Imperial, Inyo, Los Angeles, Mono, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. Friday evening, the California Department of Public Health reported that the Southern California region’s ICU capacity dropped to 13.2%, thereby triggering the new Stay-at-Home Order in Ventura County. These changes went into effect at midnight on December 6, 2020.

County of Ventura Moves Back to Purple Tier

The State of California announced yesterday that the County of Ventura would move back to Tier 1 – the Purple Tier, joining 40 other counties, after the daily case rate doubled in the last ten days. Governor Newsom “pulled the emergency brake” after the State experienced the fastest increase in cases since the beginning of the pandemic. These changes will go into effect at midnight on November 17, 2020.

Ventura County Moves to Tier 2 – Red Tier
California 4 Tier Grid
The County of Ventura has moved to Tier 2, the RED tier, on the State’s four tier reopening system. In order to move into the red tier, the County’s average case rate had to drop below 7 per 100,000 and positivity rates had to be below 8% for two weeks. The County must remain in tier 2 for a minimum of three weeks before it is allowed to move to Tier 3. Some of the changes in activities and businesses allowed are listed below.
