Report Odors

The City of Oxnard is seeking assistance from citizens in identifying odor-related issues in the community. Please be our noses across the City and report nuisance odors by calling us during (or as soon as possible) the smell is noticed. When speaking with staff, please be prepared to report the following:

1. Name and phone number
2. Date, time and location when the odor was present
3. How intense was the odor? 1-very faint to 8-very strong
4. How would you describe the odor? Ammonia, burnt/smoky, cabbage-like, sewer/sewage-like, chemical/solvent, earthy/moldy/musty, fishy, manure, decaying grass, rotten egg, turpentine, woody or other
5. Weather conditions at the time of the smell? Sunny, overcast, temperature, wind (calm, light breeze, moderate or strong) and humidity level
6. Wind direction?

Please try to contact us while the nuisance odor is present. This will allow staff to assess the odor complaint while the problem is occurring.

Informar una queja de olor póngase en contacto con la ciudad de Oxnard en (805) 271-2200 durante el horario comercial (lunes a viernes, de 7:30 a 17:00 o en (805) 797-7598 después de horas.

Es importante que se comunique con la ciudad mientras está presente el olor molesto. Esto permitirá que el personal pueda evaluar la queja de olor mientras se está produciendo el problema.
