Public advised of construction on Victoria Avenue through November 2016
OXNARD, Calif.– The public is advised of traffic delays on Victoria Avenue between Fifth Street and Gonzales Road through November 2016, due to median construction.
Traffic traveling in each direction on Victoria Avenue will be reduced to one lane. Severe delays are expected during heavy traffic times.
Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes. If driving through the construction zone, motorists should allow plenty of time to travel to their destinations and also drive at reduced speeds.
The City of Oxnard’s Public Works Department is constructing a new median and installing street lights along the median to improve visibility for motorists. The $961,000 project is funded by a grant from the Highway Safety Improvement Program to improve roadway safety.
The Public Works Department provides the Oxnard community and surrounding areas with vital water, wastewater, refuse and design and construction services. Read more about the department at www.oxnard.org/city-departments/public-works and like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/OxnardPublicWorks.
