The City of Oxnard invites its residents to dispose of their trash and unwanted items* for FREE!
The City of Oxnard is sponsoring FREE drop-off events for residents to dispose of their bulky items, trash and unwanted items. Oxnard residents have several opportunities on select dates throughout 2022-2023 to drop off their items at our Del Norte Recycling and Transfer Station and at their neighborhood drop-off event!
Neighborhood Bulky Item Drop-Off Days | Saturdays in 2022-2023
Together with the Inter Neighborhood Council Organization (INCO), the City of Oxnard is bringing back the Neighborhood Drop-Off Days starting in August 2022! Neighborhoods will have the opportunity to dispose of their large, bulky items for FREE at their specific event!
For information about your specific drop-off event please see the Neighborhood Drop-Off Event Calendar below or contact Environmental Resources at (805) 200-5746. Only upcoming, confirmed events are shown. If your neighborhood is not listed please check back for updates or contact your Neighborhood Council Chairperson. For additional information about neighborhood councils, including finding your neighborhood council, please visit www.oxnard.org/neighborhood-councils.

Free Del Norte Drop-Off Day | Saturday, November 18, 2023
𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙨! Get ready to get rid of your bulky items for FREE! The City of Oxnard, in partnership with Caltrans, invites all Oxnard residents to dispose of their bulky items, trash and unwanted items* for FREE at the Del Norte Drop-Off Day events!
These free events provide the public with a place to dispose of their waste materials to discourage and prevent illegal dumping on the roadways.
All events are from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The drop-off events are sponsored in part by Caltrans through the statewide Clean California program. The program is a $1 billion, multi-year cleanup effort to remove roadway trash, create thousands of jobs and engage communities in beautification efforts to transform roadsides into places of pride. What is accepted at these events?
Most residential items, including:
- Mattresses and box springs
- Bulky items
- Furniture such as couches
- E-waste and residential appliances
- Refrigerators
- Residential stoves
- Green waste
- Carpet and textiles
- Household trash
- Lumber and wood, scrap metal
- Tires and rims
- Styrofoam and packaging materials
- Cardboard and household recyclable items
What is NOT accepted at these events?
- No loose trash accepted (small items must be bagged)
- Paints
- Chemicals (pesticides, fertilizers, solvents, etc.)
- Batteries
- Cleaners
- Motor oil
- Light bulbs
- Sharps
- Medications
- Smoke alarms
- Gasoline
- Propane tanks
- rocks, concrete, dirt, and construction materials
- Commercial/business appliances and materials
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
The City’s Del Norte Buy-Back Center will be open from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Buy-Back Center accepts SOME Household Hazardous Waste materials. Please see the HHW flyer below and City website for more details.

FREE Mattress Recycling
Mattresses and box springs ARE accepted at the Del Norte Drop-Off Day events! In addition, our Del Norte Recycling and Transfer Station also accepts mattresses and box springs for FREE Monday through Saturday, during normal business hours of 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Restrictions apply.
