Welcome!
The Parks Division provides safe, well-maintained parks and public places and creates opportunities for park improvements, growth, and enrichment.
In addition to City parks, the Parks Division is responsible for Trees, Medians, Street Landscapes and the Graffiti Action Plan. Staff maintains 36 parks covering 297 acres, 81 miles of medians and parkways, 129 acres of open space as well as 52,095 City trees worth $158.3 million. This wealth of trees has garnered Oxnard the Tree City USA designation since 1984.
Measure E Investments
Thanks to Voter’s approval of Measure E, residents are seeing the restoration of many programs and services throughout Oxnard.
The City Council approved $5.6 million for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 to restore parks, trees, and medians maintenance starting July 1, 2021.
The City’s contractors are helping address deferred maintenance throughout Oxnard.
Thanks to Measure E investments, weekly mowing at the City’s 33 turf General Funds parks is being restored. (Measure O Parks – College Park and East Village Park – cannot use Measure E tax dollars and are maintained separately.) See the park turf areas maintained by Measure E in the Park Mowing Areas Viewer.
Contractors are restoring monthly medians & parkways maintenance. Staff has divided the work equitably into three regions, based on the amount of landscape work involved in each area – not based on lineal feet. See the progress of work in the Arterial Median Maintenance Viewer.
Additionally, City contractors are addressing deferred tree maintenance, by completing one time grid tree pruning maintenance within the City’s arterial (main) streets.
