The mission of the City’s Public Information Office is to communicate information to the public to increase awareness of city services, accomplishments and critical issues, as well as improve the city’s image by marketing its quality of life.
Serve as the city’s spokesperson when responding to the media. Establish and maintain effective relationships with local media by responding to reporter inquiries, writing and distributing well-written and accurate news releases, and planning news conferences as needed.
Coordinate special media events to bring positive attention to the City of Oxnard, including groundbreakings, grand openings, ribbon cuttings, unveiling’s and public demonstrations.
