Graffiti Community Team Leaders
The City of Oxnard’s Graffiti Task Force needs a few dedicated residents to coordinate neighborhood Graffiti Action Kit (GAK) Volunteers. If you have a few hours to dedicate to the eradication of graffiti each week, we need you! You would be responsible for working with the volunteers by organizing their efforts for neighborhood graffiti clean-ups in areas of the City. You would provide basic training to the volunteers on the use of the GAK kits and foster program participation. So, if you enjoy working with people, don’t mind getting a little dirty, and want to make a difference in your community, call Cyndi Hookstra at 385-8010.

Graffiti Removal
Residents can take back their neighborhoods by helping to clean up graffiti. We encourage you to do as much or as little as you want. Any effort to remove graffiti makes a BIG difference! Be persistent! Repeated removal will likely be needed, as vandals may try again. However, studies show that the sooner graffiti is removed, the less likely it will be repeated in the same place. If you consistently remove graffiti within 24-48 hours, vandals may realize graffiti is no longer tolerated in that area and will move on.
