Planning Division Services During COVID-19

In response to state and federal directives, our counter is closed to the public until further notice. However, we have implemented remote processes to continue handling Building and Planning, Plan Checking, and Inspections.

Planning permit entitlement processing services will continue. Application and plan (re)submittals can usually be facilitated remotely as follows:

General Inquiries

General inquiries should be sent via email to Planning@oxnard.org. Please allow up to 2 business days for a response. Include the information you are requesting, an address, and a phone number if you wish to be contacted by phone.

Submitting Projects

Requests for Home Occupation Permits, Temporary Use Permits, Zone Clearances, and other projects not requiring a licensed design professional may be submitted via email.

Large projects, complex plans and those drawn by licensed design professionals can also be submitted by email, shipped, or dropped off. Please communicate with a planner for delivery and payment instructions.

For new applications, aside from Cannabis related permits, please contact us via email at Planning@oxnard.org. Planning staff will coordinate with the Licensing Services to process payment and to send receipts.
