Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance
Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance is an evidence-based exercise program that has been proven to improve strength and balance, increase mobility and reduce the incidence of falls among seniors who participate at least three hours per week. The free classes consist of a core eight-form routine of Yang-style Tai Chi. Participants learn balance skills and good body alignment by using coordinated and flowing movements under the direction of trained and certified volunteer instructors. Previous Tai Chi experience is not required to be successful in the classes, which are intended for adults age 60 and older who can walk easily with or without assistive devices.
